Popular Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya has been sighted on social media in a heated online banter with NPP Supporters over a social media post.
After making a Facebook message criticizing the current government for arresting and detaining about 39 protestors, Wode Maya found himself embroiled in controversy.
In the Facebook post sighted by insidefuss.com, the award-winning YouTuber’s post read; “This is not the Ghana we know”.

In response to Wode Maya’s post, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, pointed out that a similar incident had occurred in Kenya, the home country of Wode Maya’s wife.
In support of his statement, he shared an Aljazeera article regarding the apprehension of roughly 270 demonstrators from Kenya.
Some members of the public reacted strongly to this response, sparking heated discussions on Facebook.
The fact that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s candidate for election 2024, is included in Mr. Ofosu Nkansah’s cover photo, along with Wode Maya’s response, has been generally perceived as a clear jab at the NPP and its adherents.
After commenting, the governing party has come under fire from individuals who see it as a critique of their political beliefs.
Mr. Ofosu Nkansah stated that he unfollowed the influencer on social media in response to his remark.
The pushback was immediate, with several NPP supporters expressing their displeasure on social media. While some have written off Wodemaya’s remarks as a personal perspective, others are calling on him to provide an apology.
Supporters have accused the YouTuber of using his platform to denigrate and disparage a sizable segment of the Ghanaian populace to justify their political membership.
