Democracy Hub, the organizers of the three-day #ReoccupyJulorbiHouse and #StopGalamseyNow protests, has voiced concern over the arrest of Benjamin Akufo Darko by the Ghana Police Service.
According to the group, despite Darko’s absence from recent protests owing to personal obligations, authorities apprehended him.
In a statement released on Wednesday, September 25, the pressure group noted that, while Darko did not join the protests, he was offering assistance and soliciting finances for individuals who had already been jailed.
Democracy Hub demanded the immediate release of Benjamin Akufo Darko and all those who have been wrongfully incarcerated.
They also called for a stop to state-sponsored harassment of activists and citizens exercising their rights.
