Several celebrities have endorsed releasing those detained during the #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration by joining the #FreetheCitizens movement on social media, especially on X.
Following the arrests, which many consider a violation of human rights, social media has exploded with calls for justice.
Advocates are denouncing the alleged mistreatment of individuals in custody, especially when a court ordered their two-week stay instead of granting them bail.
Those who have been arrested have voiced grave worries about a variety of issues, such as the incarceration of innocent bystanders and the lack of access to food, water, and legal counsel.
Online, the incident has provoked a great deal of outrage.

Background
The demonstrators were taken into custody during the weekend’s #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration.
Following a three-day demonstration at the 37 Roundabout, where protestors voiced concerns about economic mismanagement and illicit small-scale mining (galamsey), the arrests occurred.
Tensions increased on Sunday, September 22, the second day of the demonstrations, when a significant altercation broke out between demonstrators from Democracy Hub and the Ghana Police Service.
